Deftly plucking seeds

The sparrow’s narrow black nib

Re-writes destiny

  1. I wrote this one while watching sparrows snatching dandelion seeds from their tiny closed green purses, before they could open up into puffballs.

    I thought about how the sparrows were keeping those seeds from landing on the lawn and propagating there, changing destiny as it were.

    Of course, they're probably local birds and will just as likely crap-out the seeds there anyway. :)
